Wingfield W. Watson

Wingfield W. Watson (April 28, 1828 Ireland - October 29, 1922 in Voree, Wisconsin) was a religious leader in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Strangite) which was founded by Joseph Smith, Junior, and succeeded by James Jesse Strang He was a church records keeper. And some of his works have been compiled, showing the beliefs and actions of Strang followers on Beaver Island. As well as those in Vorre, Wisconsin the head of the Strangite movement. As of 1998 there were approximately 300 members of this Mormon branch.

Wingfield Watson was with James Strang when he was assassinated on Beaver Island in Michigan and later died in Voree. The Church of Jesus Christ (Drewite) had been meeting in an old farm house owned by Wingfield Watson.
